8 Diagram Pole Fighters: This movie almost didn't make it, because Liu Chia Liang was so saddened by Alexander Fu Sheng's death (this was his last movie). Fortunately, he did put it out and as we are all aware, this became one of the greatest kung fu movies of all time. No question about it. Movie is in Cantonese with English and Chinese subtitles, WIDESCREEN. Not bad quality. Uncut, 95 minutes running time -- that's 5 minutes more than the English version! It feels sooo much better than watching the full screen dubbed version!Avenging Eagle: Another great Shaw Bros classic, starring Ti Lung and Fu Sheng. Great heart-warming story, great fight scenes, great acting. Ku Feng is great as the old villain, and Ti Lung won some awards for his role. Ask any kung fu fan for recommendation and Avenging Eagle will be on top of his list. I was told that this is the uncut version, but I'm not 100% sure about that. English language, widescreen, good quality.
Come Drink With Me: An early classic directed by King Hu (the most influencial director of martial arts movies, according to John Woo and Ang Lee). This film introduced the beautiful Cheng Pei Pei (Jade Fox in Crouching Tiger) to the world, and she soon conquered the world. This is considered one of the best swordplay movies of the 60s. Very good quality, in Mandarin with English and Chinese subtitles.
12 Deadly Coins: My favorite of all Shaw Bros movies. I hate to let this one go, but it's gotta go. This is such a good film. The performances are very strong, and the acting is superb. Lo Lieh makes himself the ideal tragic hero. I can't say enough good things about this one! Movie is in Cantonese with English and Chinese subtitles. Quality is great.
Fastest Sword: What a gem this is! Old school Swordplay at its very best. The plot if flawless, and the action is better than some of the stuff from years later! Definitely a treat for Shaw fans. Mandarin language, English and Chinese subtitles. Good quality. There's some minor waviness at the beginning.
Kung Fu Instructor: One of Ti Lung's best! This is a great film showcasing his skills and Chinese kung fu in general. Ti Lung is a righteous kung fu master. He is the best in town, but other instructors are jealous of him, so they set him up for murder. He must defend his name with his martial arts. Once again Ku Feng is the villain. Also starring Zhao Ya Zhi (Gigi Lai), Wong Yu and Wang Lung Wei. English dubbed, average quality. This is an original video with original boxart.
Bat Island Adventure: Very rare stuff from SB. This is part 2 of the classic Clans of Intrigue. There's some very good kung fu in this film, and the suspense is always intense. English dubbed, average quality. Never released by Shaw Brothers!
The Weird Man: A little known SB presentation from Chang Cheh, starring Chen Tien Chi who was the main character in Chinese Super Ninja. Great movie with almost nonstop action! Mandarin with English subtitles. Fair quality. Never released on video by Shaw Brothers!
Swordsman Adventure: This is the kind of stuff that I dig -- fast and clean action (good quality and quantity), innovative swordplay, gorgeous sets, beautiful babes, and of course the main man Adam Cheng. And for once he is not Chu Liu Xiang! in Mandarin with English and Chinese subtitles. Okay to good quality.
Street Fighter: Sonny Chiba proves in his original martial arts classic that he is next to Bruce Lee in kung fu cinema. English version. Movie was once rated XXX for explicitness!! Now it's rated R in America. Perfect picture in widescreen. This is an original video with original sleeve/case. It was never a rental.
All films are transferred in SP mode from the originals. They are excellent items for collectors. Even though some of the videos' qualities aren't the best compared to popular releases, they are certainly among the best of the copies that are available.
